The service includes collection, auditing, inventory and storage of IT and telecommunications equipment for a number of large public and private sector bodies. Within this division of Recycling Lives we can offer a complete service for managing any organisations IT inventory. Coupled with our recycling and refurbishment operations we are able to offer and effective end of life solution to any equipment falling short of inventory criteria within our stored stock.
At Recycling Lives we firmly believe that the most efficient and effective form of recycling is re-use. Subsequently we have setup a refurbishment facility which is dedicated to the reuse of IT equipment. All equipment which enters our facility is subjected to rigorous inspection and testing to ascertain its potential for refurbishment or direct resale. Data on any form of magnetic media, requiring complete destruction and containing confidential information is securely erased to SEAP 8500 (Type 2) standards using a high powered automatic degausser. Alternative non physical destruction methods are also available using software to erase information rendering the media reusable. All items are tested for functionality and structural integrity by our on-site engineers prior to sale or donation.
Items which fail are sent for WEEE compliant processing, and certificates of destruction are made available to our clients. Functioning equipment is refurbished and re-used as preferred by the WEEE legislation.
