Recycling Lives offers a unique and innovative solution which addresses key Government agendas in the areas of worklessness, homelessness and social entrepreneurialism whilst encompassing the modern challenges of waste management in our increasingly environment conscious society.
In a purpose built facility Recycling Lives provides a multi-agency approach to addressing the causes of worklessness and homelessness through the provision of employment opportunities and skills-training, opportunities for new business incubation, and a strategy for reducing landfill waste.
Recycling Lives provides:
- Temporary accommodation for residents to ensure social skills development with associated recreational and functional space.
- Industrial space to accommodate a variety of recycling activities.
- Retail space to showcase and sell products manufactured by Recycling Lives from locally recycled waste.
- Facilities for skills training for long term employment.
- Small business incubator units for entrepreneurs to establish new commercial and social enterprises.
- Real long term jobs in a range of Recycling and other businesses.
- Exhibition and educational space in addition to food and beverage facilities to encourage local community integration and learning.
- Rentable office space and hot-desk service.
Recycling Lives will provide, alongside its partners, an integrated multi-agency delivery of services to the long term unemployed, unskilled workforce and to the homeless. Establishing its first facility in Preston Lancashire, Recycling Lives will operate around the country both as a registered charity and associated commercial business to fulfill its multi-faceted vision of improving the lives of its residents and the local community, and delivering key elements of national waste-management and recycling strategies.
